SCHOOLS & TEACHERS
Four Mile Historic Park is a great resource for educators and students when learning about Colorado’s rich history. Whether it is through a field trip experience or traveling trunk in your classroom, our 12-acre Park, house museum and special programming complement the subjects for cultural history, natural history and more! All programs are designed to meet select Colorado Academic Standards.
Experience one-room schoolhouse lessons, participate in daily farm chores, cook over an open fire, view objects related to Denver’s early history, explore the Four Mile House Museum or make butter. Delve into Colorado’s past through our unique setting, collection, and events. Let Four Mile Historic Park help to make the Frontier come to life for your students!
Scheduling your Field Trip is as easy as 1, 2, 3, 4! You will begin by narrowing down the dates that work best for your classroom schedule, then select a Program Option (four available), next choose the activities to take you on your journey to Colorado’s Frontier, and finally submit a Field Trip Request form or call 720-865-0814.
Enhance your curriculum by scheduling a Traveling Trunk program with connections to Four Mile Historic Park’s collection and Colorado’s 1800s history.
Traveling Trunk programs cover a wide range of topics: Daily Life on an 1859 Homestead, Pioneer Schoolhouse, Plains Native American Culture, and The Life and Times of Abraham Lincoln.
