Pearl the Angora goat was just a wee little sprout when she was rejected by her mother, but she quickly found a new family when she came to the Park in 2017. She has become quite attached to the staff and volunteers and has been happy-”goat”-lucky ever since. Her mohair is sheared twice a year for volunteers to spin into Angora yarn. You can see a shawl made from Pearl’s yarn hanging behind the welcome desk!
As the Park’s spokesgoat, Pearl has cultivated a respectable Instagram following by sharing her interests in Colorado history, farm life, and bandana fashion. You can follow her and keep up with all of the animals on the Park @pearltheangoragoat.
Pearl enjoys long walks through the park with her friend Val, hollering to passersby from her pen, and eating stuff she finds on the ground.
