Victorian Spiritualism was a 19th-century movement that believed the spirits of the deceased could communicate with the living. In the aftermath of Westward Expansion and the Civil War, many Americans sought comfort in the idea of an afterlife where they could reconnect with loved ones, seek closure, share secrets, and find answers to lingering questions.
This year, the Metaphysical Marketplace returns, offering guests the chance to purchase unique crystals, curios, and mystical items. The event will feature entertainment on the Sundry Stage, including drag bingo, live music, and mystical performances. Guests can also explore aura photography, flash tattoos, and tarot readings.
For a truly eerie experience, join a séance at the historic Four Mile House, where you’ll feel the chill of the past as you participate in spine-tingling rituals rooted in 19th-century spiritual practices. Don’t miss the Victorian Mourning Ceremony downstairs, offering a glimpse into historical rituals of grief. And be sure to capture the moment with a vintage tin-type photo, preserving a haunting spirit from the past.
