Victorian Spiritualism was a 19th-century movement that believed that the spirits of the deceased were both able and eager to communicate with the living. In the wake of the turmoil from Westward Expansion and the Civil War, many Americans found comfort in the idea of an afterlife where they could reconnect with loved ones, make amends, share secrets, and find answers to unresolved questions. This year, the Metaphysical Marketplace is back, offering guests the chance to purchase unique crystals and curios. The event will also feature a variety of entertainment on the Sundry Stage, including drag bingo, music, and mystical performances. Attendees can explore aura photography, flash tattoos, and tarot readings. For a truly eerie experience, participate in a seance of the historic Four Mile House. Feel the chill of the past as you engage in spine-tingling rituals that echo the spiritual practices of the 19th century. Head downstairs to discover a Victorian Mourning Ceremony and learn about the practices of the past. Don’t miss the opportunity to have your own tin-type photo taken, capturing a vintage spirit that resonates with the haunting atmosphere of the era.

Séance of the Haunted Four Mile House

Prepare for an evening of spirits as the investigators of the Rocky Mountain Paranormal Research Society present a theatrical recreation of a classic Victorian séance in the attic of the haunted Four Mile House. For more than 25 years, Rocky Mountain Paranormal has investigated paranormal claims throughout Colorado and beyond. Now they present an opportunity to witness a Victorian-style séance for yourself. Guests will have the opportunity to see how the Victorians attempted communication with the dead…and might witness some spirit activity during the program.
